Is A Mortgage A Lien?

A mortgage is not a lien in the traditional sense.





A lien is something that is viewed typically as a debt that has been caused by mismanagement of a particular asset. There are so many people who of course end up with tax liens on their property because they did not do the proper amount of financial planning before they happened to buy the property. Everyone starts out with a mortgage unless they are extremely independently wealthy and can put a lot of cash for your home or commercial property. The concept of having a lot of upfront cash is quite rare in these bad economic times. Is A Mortgage A Lien? It may seem like a lien in these hard economic times.

Tax Liens

Tax liens are something that a property owner should be afraid of. The mayor of a town can even have a tax lien against their particular property. This is a completely separate issue from the mortgage payments which he had left on the building and which he is still making to this day.
